Scale is the whole problem
A circus is not a set of equals — a lion is not the size of a clown, and a frog is not the size of either. Ordering everything at one size flattens that: Goliath ends up the same height as Croaky and the group stops making sense. Ordering the animals one size down from the people is what most customers settle on.
Bright, and that is harder
Circus colours mean colour changes, and every change is a join that has to be hidden inside the work. A striped body carries more joins than a plain one, which is why this set takes longer per doll than its size suggests.
Which size
8 inches for the people and 6 for the smaller animals gives the right group. For a single doll rather than the group, 10 is the most popular.
